Zinmed is a cross-platform mobile app for the diabetic community. Zinmed provides targeted information to specific groups of diseases and subjects, helps with nutritional and food lookup, searches for clinic and doctor reviews. The application can automatically connect with health monitoring devices to automatically synthesize and analyze indicators of movement, heart rate, blood pressure through intuitive graphs. Currently, the Zinmed application supports the storage of patient information on NFC tags, Mitfit and Fitbit wearables. This is also one of the startups that participated in the 3rd term TFI start-up course, won the second prize in the contest of converging mobile application development organized by Microsoft and Vietnam Internet Association. Founder of Zinmed, TS. Chu Duc Hoang has just entered the top 14 scientists in Vietnam participating in the “Support for the commercialization of scientific research results” organized by the British Academy. Currently Zinmed has a running version. first try for Android and are looking for investment to continue to develop and improve products.

III. BUSINESS OPERATION:

1. PROBLEM: 

Diabetes is a chronic disease in which the body does not produce insulin, or cannot use it. Normally, starches, sugars and other nutrients are broken down into glucose, and carried by blood to the cells. The cells use insulin, a hormone secreted by the pancreas, to help convert glucose into energy. If there is not enough insulin, or insulin is not used correctly, glucose will rise in the blood and urine, which will cause a lot of health problems. Diabetic patients are at an increased risk of heart disease and stroke, nerve damage that leads to pain and numbness in the hands and feet, impaired kidney function, and eye disease.

Diabetes has two main forms: Type 1 diabetes is caused by the pancreas not secreting insulin, and type 2 due to decreased insulin secretion and insulin resistance. Type 1 (Type 1) accounts for about 5-10% of the total number of patients. Diabetes type 1, mostly occurs in children and young people (<20T). Symptoms often begin suddenly and progress quickly if not treated. The full stage has absolute insulin deficiency causing hyperglycemia and ketone infection. Typical symptoms of Type 1 Diabetes are: overeating, drinking a lot, urinating a lot, causing a lot (4 a lot), blurred vision, paresthesia and weight loss, children with growth retardation and susceptibility to infections. Type 2 (Type2) accounts for about 90-95% of the total number of diabetics, common in the age group over 40, but more recently in the 30s, even adolescents. Patients often have few symptoms and are usually detected only by symptoms of complications, or are discovered by accident when having blood tests before surgery or when complications such as myocardial infarction, stroke brain blood; with prolonged skin infections; female patients with regional itching due to vulvar infection; Male patient with impotence. Diabetes caused by pregnancy during pregnancy accounts for 3-5% of all pregnancies; detected for the first time in pregnancy.

Diabetes is thriving and affects 5.2 million Vietnamese (6% of the population) and 382 million adults worldwide – 6.4% of the global adult population. By 2035, this number is forecast to increase to 7 million Vietnamese and 592 million or 7.8% of the adult population globally. This disease is costly for those who are sick. Diabetes creates economic burdens due to the increased incidence of new illness and the number of related injuries occurring. Currently, it is estimated that the annual worldwide cost of medical care for diabetic patients is about 223 billion USD, this number is continuing to increase with the incidence of new diabetes. Each diabetic in Vietnam needs to spend about $ 500 per year for the treatment of diabetes. The International Diabetes Association (IDF) estimates worldwide diabetes spending that will be $ 561 billion by 2030.

The Zinmed project has 6 main components based on technology trends: Remote Mobile Medicine, Cloud Computing and Capacity Building, patient’s sense of proactive participation in medical examination and treatment. diabetes treatment ”will be a complete system that helps doctors, patients and clinics to quickly, effectively, safely and securely manage diabetes and cardiovascular treatment. The solution has many outstanding features such as automatic connection to monitoring devices and data synchronization, automatic information filling to patients to monitor and warning of abnormal cases.

In addition, Zinmed’s solution also includes Personal Electronic Medical Data System for diabetes and cardiology such as medical information, data of hundreds of thousands of users, information about clinics, doctors. , diabetes and cardiovascular medicine supportive drugs through websites, mobile apps and tablet apps.
